Gate of Hate

  1. Do not hate your brother in your heart
    VaYikra 19:17
  2. The trait of hatred leads to many transgressions such as slander, rejoicing in another's misfortune, taking revenge and bearing grudges

  3. One might hate his fellow for causing him financial loss, for striking or shaming him, for giving him a bad name, or similar. However, one must not hate in silence. Rather, it is a Mitzvah to inform him and ask "Why did you do such and such to me?"

  4. If a person sincerely asks for forgiveness, he should be forgiven. The one who forgives must not be hard-hearted
